Jared and Rachel – Pick One

After viewing fifteen houses in the Mesquite and Forney area, Jared and Rachel have narrowed it down to three.

The results are in – well, really Jared and Rachel decided to see one more house.

Here it is:

Which one do you think they will choose?

#1 is a house in Mesquite in the Hills of Tealwood. It is 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms with a huge backyard that backs up to a woodsy area.

#2 is in the subdivision of Honeysuckle Meadows in Forney. The house features 4 bedrooms and a game room. Looking out the back, you can see much country side.

#3 is a foreclosure in the subdivision Falcon S. Lair in Mesquite. It is the largest of the three at 2768 sq ft. The home has 4 bedrooms plus a study. The study is downstairs. The rest of the bedrooms and the game room are up.

Watch the videos and the comments by Jared and Rachel, then chime in about what home you think they should choose and why.

House #2

And now – Jared and Rachel chime in. Sorry about the wind noise, we decided to sit outside for this one.

House #3

Jared and Rachel share some great thoughts on this property.

Some aspects that are very important to Jared and Rachel: Safe and secure feeling, Rachel likes the idea of sitting outside and loves the idea of a peaceful location. She works from home and needs a workspace. Jared will work from the high school in Mesquite and doesn’t want too long of a commute. Rachel likes the idea of a nice community feel. As far as the home itself, Rachel likes to spend time in the kitchen, yet wants to be connected to the rest of the people in the house. They want a bathroom with a separate shower and enough space for both of them to get ready at the same time. Jared and Rachel like to entertain their friends by having poker nights, which means plenty of space inside for 4-6 tables.

Now it’s your turn to sound off on what house you would choose, or what house you think Rachel and Jared should choose.

    Jared & Rach,

    What a hard choice!!!

Love the hardwood floors and paint/homey feel of first home, however you can always paint a home to make it look like this. Definately want to find out how others view the safety of the area…

The Forney house has the pools/park (which you will love with and without kids), and sounds like it might have the best location, bigger kitchen, the only downside is the water plant thing …. so I’m leaning toward that one for an investment and just enjoyable space/perks for you guys. The lower price also lets you afford to pick out paint & ceiling fans, which aren’t very expensive but add a lot of personal style.

The 3rd one… with the upstairs master… I have to tell you that even in “cool” Colorado the one thing we do not like is the upstairs master… it gets so hot!!! And if there’s one place you want to stay cool, it is for sleeping on those hot summer nights. Also, the school next door would give me pause .. noise is a major factor as is privacy..

So with what I can see (without knowing more) — I’m swinging toward Forney right now. But I can be easily swayed in another direction with more information. Ultimately get the house that makes you both smile and say, “Ahhhhhhhhhh… we’re home.” :)

Love you… Such fun to see this!!! Hug Terri for me.

    Jared & Rachel,

Love the look and feel of the first home, but you can always do that on your own! Love the second house…especially the backyard and “country!” Looks peaceful! I suggest inquiring about future plans for the development of the land behind the house. I would hate to see you guys move in and then a shopping center or Wal-Mart become your neighbor! We are so excited for you! Can’t wait to hear of your decision, and look forward to seeing you in July!!! :)

    Kathy :)

    Terri,

I love the way you “walked-us” through the video tour on this last one. The videos are great and I’ve gotten a lot of valuable feedback from friends and family after they watched them. As first time home buyers that has been really helpful. And, if we get the house we put an offer on, I know I’ll be going back to the video a lot as we pick colors and make plans or just to show off our house to out of town family.

    Thanks so much,
    Rachel
